Background:

With the national unemployment rate stalled at 9.1 percent, President Obama has proposed a $447 billion jobs plan. Meanwhile, Speaker of the House John Boehner criticized the President's plan and called for major changes to tax laws and business regulations instead. What should the federal government do to decrease unemployment? Learn about the options by watching C-SPAN videos, reading related articles, and using our lesson plans about the American Jobs Act and alternative proposals to decrease unemployment.
